Lots of cool thing will be happening this month!
I just love Woolly Wormhead’s hats. They are so unique and if I had time I’d probably make at least half of them. However, since my time is really limited I decided to make a hat for my son. I’ve been eyeing Alfur for a while now (also Quinn, but at the moment I don’t have yarn that would show the pattern nicely) and when Wojtek picked wonderful blue-gray Merino Ulubione from Zagroda I knew it would become this hat.
The design is fantastic and as a person who truly loves Reverse Stockinette I just had to make it. However, it was not that easy because I had to start the hat twice. I have no idea what came over me, but I misread the instructions. Wonderful Woolly helped me out and I found my mistake pretty early. I started cabling one round too early. All that lead to weird increases which to my surprise were coming out ok. Unfortunatelly once I stopped increasing the cables got looser and the differences in gauge in that spots started showing. That was something I couldn’t ignore so rip rip rip and two days later I cast on again. Thankfully this time all was perfect.
Pattern: Alfur by Woolly Wormhead
After making the hat, I had so much yarn left that a neckwarmer was inevitable. I picked “Heartwarmer” by Dani Sunshine.
What a lovely little thing! I didn’t modify it at all, there was no need to. It came out perfectly. I’ll be making more of these for sure!
So now Wojtek is ready for kindergarten. But I still have some yarn left. Hmmm… tiny mittens now?
Have a fabulous Monday!
